samira gholami
Samira Gholami is a senior Health, Society, and Policy student currently interning
with the nation's doctor--Dr. Jerome Adams--in the Office of the Surgeon General (OSG)
in Washington DC. "It is a historic time to be working and learning from the Surgeon
General in the midst of the global Coronavirus pandemic. To be in DC during a presidential
election and a public health crisis means that there has truly never been a dull moment."
She has had the opportunity to prepare briefings on COVID-19 resource allocation and
public health social media engagements. Samira's educational background in HSP has
informed her work in the OSG and she is grateful for the chance to work with such
esteemed public health officials in this Hinckley internship. Though her internship
is virtual, Samira spends her free-time in DC visiting the various Smithsonian museums
and was even able to get her flu shot from Dr. Adams himself.
