I decided to major in Health, Society & Policy and in Spanish. These two majors may seem quite different at first. However, during college, I noticed just how much they complimented each other. I was born and raised in a small town in Brazil. After moving to the United States, I discovered my passion for global health and cultural competency. Before choosing my majors, I considered majoring in Psychology, Engineering, or Chemistry. When I looked at the courses available for getting a BS in HSP, I knew that was the right choice. The LEAP Health Sciences program sparked my interest in learning about biomedical ethics and social justice in health care. I knew that HSP would further my understanding in these very important issues.
