The Health, Society and Policy Program, formerly Behavioral Science and Health, addresses the multidimensional character of human health. This major is designed to provide students with the broad, interdisciplinary foundation for understanding health and to sensitively and effectively address health care issues in multidimensional contexts. The program is interdepartmental in structure. Students in the program will gain familiarity with the many fields related to health and be in a favorable position to make appropriate career choices.

The HSP program culminates in a Capstone Class for majors in spring semester of their senior year. It brings to bear insights in an interdisciplinary series of seminars on a particular theme related to the major. Recent capstone themes have included a focus on Health Care Reform (2011) and Health Care Technology (2010), Sex and Reproduction, Opportunities and Challenges of Health Information in the Digital Age.
